(I'll meet you in the morning)

Going Home At Last

My evening star is sinking low,
Angels whisper time to go,
My life's light is fading fast,
I'm going home at last.

In this my life's midnight hour
I heal in the light of God's power,
Bathed in the glow of His love
As deaths angel hovers above.

I give my soul to God in prayer
Asking that he meet me there
At the foot of his golden throne
When Heaven will be my home.

No more will I suffer life's rain
At last no mortal pains
As I place feet on shining shore
My soul I lay at God's door.

Old age has stricken me down
Now I'm bound for higher ground,
My rivers of sorrow flow no more,
Soon to the Holy Father I'll soar.

My mind cries out hallelujah,
I relinquish my soul to you,
Bear me up and quickly away
I welcome this hallowed day.

Holy Father at the midnight strike
I yield to your wondrous might,
Clutch me to bosom ever so tight,
Take me home this awaited night.
